Moved Pen to his new viv! He’s in the bottom, previously unused, section of Sebby’s vivarium stack. He seems to like it and is actually moving around for once.  I decided to go with an oriental theme since i used a fair bit of bamboo to fix it up. I used bamboo as legs to support the shelf and i used a piece of bamboo to act as a lip along the front and stop substrate from falling out.

I wanted to give him several shelves for extra space but he’s a very lazy snake. He wouldn’t use it and it would make the enclosure seem cluttered.  He has enough space to stretch out his whole body along the back wall easily and he’s having a lovely exploration. He’s also learning what glass is - he’s learning faster than Seb did!

Red Star
Red is feeling much better now! His poorly tail seems like it will most likely be lost during/after his next shed or so. Apparently this shouldn’t hurt him since that tissue is currently all but gone. He’s not as dehydrated now as he’s losing his wrinkles and is so much more energetic! He actually tried to bite me rather than hanging limp - never have i been so happy to see an angry snake! He’s still looking a tad skinny but i can’t feed him till we’ve sorted the dehydration.

Don’t worry Sebby… even snakes have their down days!

Sebastian The Teenage Snake
Seb has been acting so weird lately. He’s usually wanting to be in his hides all the time, but lately he’s been sitting out & wandering around a lot more. He always sits and looks out of the glass, but if i try and pick him up to take him beyond the glass he’s pretty adamant to stay inside. He’s like a fecking teenager. I tried to weigh him earlier and getting him to sit in the tub was like getting blood from a stone (131g!). He’s shedding again, but this isn’t his normal reaction (look at his grown up little face!)
Im pretty sure it must be breeding season and he’s wanting a little company. He wont get any since he’s not breeding material but he’ll keep trying his damn best to get to Dennie’s rub!

Red Star.

Red is looking much better after having a bath! All of his retained shed has come off and there was a good 2 layers. He’s looking a little brighter along his back too. He lost the tip of his tail though - it literally just fell off. Its questionable as to whether the rest of his tail will be saved though since it still looks very black. He’s now in ‘sick bay’ and i’ll be keeping an eye on him and that tail.

Hes such a friendly little guy - didn’t even bite me when his tail tip fell off!

6PM

Red Star

Just collected this poor little mite. His previous owner says he’s been looking like that for a month and gave him to me. He’s a teeny little thing!  I named him Red Star on the way home, and from the look of the shed-free area’s im guessing him to be a hypo motley - cant be sure till i get that shed off though :) Gonna get him healthy and then find him a decent home.

I switched around the decor in Sebbys vivarium around a little - he’s pretty pissed off. He dislikes the change around so much he’s spent the last 5 minutes with has hidden his head behind a rock.
Sometimes i wonder if snakes can have autism too.

Walked into my room to find Sebby like this. Somehow he’d managed to force his head through the gap between the glass. He hadn’t realised he was too fat until it was too late and he was firmly wedged in place. He’s fine now and hiding in his water bowl but I think he’s learnt a valuable lesson.

I Named the Snow Corn Snake

She is to be called ‘Dendar the Night Serpent’ Or Dennie for short. Just ‘cause :D

January142013

Meet the newest members of my little mob!

Snapped a quick photo of them as i put them in their tubs. The larger orange/red guy is a male 210g Amelanistic corn snake who’s keeping his name ‘Pendulum’ for now. The pale one is a female 112g Snopal (Or a snow - no ones 100% sure!). She isn’t named yet but is gorgeous and decided to shed and poop en-route home! :)

January122013

So these are the two guys i may be rehoming. Their owner feels he is unable to look after them anymore so they may be coming to live with me :D

The first is a October 2010 amel corn snake male who is currently called pendulum. The 2nd is mid 2012 Snopal corn girl :) No one is 100% sure on her morph - she may be a snow, she may be a snopal. It makes no difference to me as she is gorgeous :D She’s currently in shed so her colours don’t show up well in the photo.

I have to go and see them to check them out, but all going well they may soon be joining me. :D I should consider renaming them…

Remember when Sebastian was all teeny and small? Not any more! He’s now measuring at around 30 inches and 118g!
