Went to check on Hige and he was sleeping like a baby. A very cute baby. He was lay on the ‘blanket’ i’d put on his favourite sleeping spot and had part nestled in it - I felt duty bound to finish covering him up. 

Dyspraxia and DIY

I have Dyspraxia (also known as Developmental Co-ordination Disorder/DCD and Perceptuo-Motor Dysfunction) which is not very well known and is described as being: 

“An impairment or immaturity of the organisation of movement. It is an immaturity in the way that the brain processes information, which results in messages not being properly or fully transmitted. Dyspraxia affects the planning of what to do and how to do it. It is associated with problems of perception, language and thought.”

I wanted to redo a scruffy looking viv belonging to Hige but was a little cautious - things go wrong more often than right with Dyspraxia and DIY! The viv itself was custom made by the previous owner from what i believe was a cabinet. I wanted to make it 100% suitable for Hige to live in but also have it function as a decorative piece of furniture to suit the room. You can see the original version in the second picture and the changes in the rest. What did i do you ask? Well I:

1. Built a second ledge for increasing space, adding an extra hide and basking on closer to the UVB.
2. Replaced the reptile carpet with easy to clean rough textured lino. 
3. Added a few bits such as a climbing half log for basking on and slate for warm spots.
4. Re-painted the exterior ‘wild flower purple’ to make it look a little neater
5. Added some cool black stenciled designs. 
6. Got covered in paint. Head to toe. (Mostly toe & hands).

All in all i’m pretty happy with it. Its not exactly what i pictured in my head but it’s close enough - sometimes you have to know your limits and what you are actually genuinely capable of with Dyspraxia. It looks a hell of a lot less scruffy and much neater i reckon :D

I need to rehome my female bearded dragon, Ojo, since she is currently in with a male, i don’t want to breed them and he steals all her food. Also don’t want to risk future breeding fights between the two of them. He’s clearly dominant so i decided to move her out so she isn’t at any more risk. 
She is around 18 months and is eating, pooing and shedding fine. She has a tail nip from before i got her and is missing one claw (i’m told this was a birth defect) but is very healthy. Her full set up will include all the lights and heat she needs (some decor may be needed due to her being moved out of her original home into this). I am told she has had one healthy clutch of eggs before but i don’t want to risk another, although she may potentially still lay some eggs which may or may not be fertile - any pet shop will take them in or they can just be frozen and then disposed of. 
She is currently fed on roaches daily with occasional morio worms and daily fresh veg - all with arkvits, a combined multi-vitamin and calcium supplement, daily. She is very friendly, used to being handled and loves being stroked on the head. She has never been kept on sand so is at no risk for impaction at all. She will come with some starter food to get you going and details of what she likes to eat etc. Can possibly deliver to anyone local but not beyond Preston since i dont drive.
