My Thoughts:I am that fish. I am clawing up that tree. I can almost keep up- I am in the middle of the pack, maybe slightly beyond them. My fins are torn, bleeding, and causing great pain. My mind is telling me that I am inadequate, which is why I cannot climb with the best of them. I can’t breathe. I routinely hop into the puddles on the branches of that tree, my native habitat, and can swim very well. But I don’t care about swimming-I must climb. I would plunge off that tree to my death to relieve this horrible pain if it were not for the fact that I have been promised that there will be a pool atop this tree, and that I shall shine as a superstar when I reach it. For I can swim, that is what makes me unique. It is my weakness now, but when I mature and enter the real world atop this tree, then I shall succeed.
